The Social Emotional Development Specialist and the ‘SESA Initiative Ghana Co-founder Mr. James Kwesi Addison was one of the few resource persons selected by the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) at a recent workshop organized at the Paloma Hotel in Accra to train TVET service providers, on the theme, “BUILDING THE CULTURE OF INNOVATION: THE MAKING OF A KNOWLEDGE WORKER”
The two- day training, which was under the auspices of the newly appointed Executive Director Mrs. Mawusi Nudekor Awity, was aimed at building the capacity of management staff to respond to the changing needs of vocational and technical training in Ghana.
Mr. James Kwesi Addison, the social-emotional development specialist took participants through emotional resilience and encouraged the NVTI to embrace social and emotional learning.
Participants were also taken through resource mobilization, meeting the needs of trainees, strategies for reaching out to the informal sector, branding, media strategy, business networking, and emotional resilience.
The Executive Director of NVTI, Mrs. Mawusi Nudekor Awity hinted that a modern vocational and technical education should include emotional resilience and in her closing remarks encouraged participants to use the knowledge gained from the workshop to respond to the dynamics of vocational and technical training.
