The Catholic faithful in the Archdiocese of Accra and across the nation, have for long appealed to the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference (GCBC) to establish a television channel to aid in evangelisation as well as educate the Catholic faithful.

The cries for a television channel intensified during the COVID-19 pandemic when the Catholic faithful could not physically attend Holy Mass but had to rely on online and social media platforms to gain access to Holy Mass.

At a workshop held on Thursday, 18th June 2020, comprising of representatives of 17 dioceses in Ghana to deliberate on the establishment of a television channel, Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, CSSp, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Accra, informed participants that the cry of the Catholic Faithful for a television channel has reached the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference.

Several attempts have been made over the years to realise this dream and have gradually materialised.

The GCBC at a recent meeting approved for the discussion, planning and set up of a national catholic television channel to commence.

He was grateful to Chief Crystal; owner of Crystal Plus TV, who has generously offered his TV channel Crystal TV Plus to the Catholic Church in Ghana to educate, entertain and win more souls for Christ through TV media.

Congratulations to the lay faithful of the Catholic Church of Ghana for finally realising their dream of a Catholic TV channel.
